Learning Pathways and Pastoral Care – Junior Years 7-9
At each year level, two main teachers are responsible for the implementation of the curriculum and the academic and pastoral care of students. SEAL program teachers understand the particular needs of highly able students and the need to nurture, support and challenge them to succeed in an accelerated learning environment. Junior students have one significant teacher mentor to guide them through each year of schooling. All SEAL students are also required to interact with others in their cohort through sporting events, integrated curriculum and year level immersion programs.
Learning Pathways – Senior Years 10-12
Through transition into Senior School, senior pastoral teachers take Year 10 students for Project ME, ensuring that our SEAL students still have a pastoral teacher who both teaches them and understands their needs.
Senior SEAL teachers focus on helping the students work closely with our Careers and Pathway Advisors, to look at the variety of individual pathways open to them, including:
- Understanding the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) over three years with extra units;
- Combining a three year VCE with University Enhancement Courses;
- Combining a three year VCE with Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses.
