Curriculum

Our curriculum and programs challenge and extend all students by offering them a wide range of educational experiences. At Mount Erin College we are committed to individual success for each and every student. We focus on developing students as resilient and responsible young adults destined for success in a constantly evolving world.

Dynamic teaching, innovative programs and personalised learning are the foundations of our curriculum models. ICT (Information Communication Technology) rich environment is critical in the delivery of these high standard programs. Our Year 7 team are focused on ensuring a smooth transition from primary school and opening the eyes of our new students to new and exciting areas of study, encouraging and building confidence, academic and personal skills. Though Year 8, students foster and are extended in the depth and breadth of these study areas. Our teachers are enjoying the innovative Year 9 Inquiry Centre which takes students out of their comfort zones and challenges them to build their strengths, work on weaknesses in a different way, and make choices and decisions. There is increasing choice allowing students to build on their interests and passions, as well as consolidating theory, literacy, and numeracy in preparation for senior school.

There is a high demand for excellence though out the College. Many Year 10 students accelerate with Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) studies, and the curriculum at this level prepares your child for Year 11 & 12 consolidating and developing research, study, and core skills.

The College offers a wide range of VCE studies and maintains strong links with universities and tertiary education institutions, enabling students to undertake university and Vocational Education Training (VET) courses to enhance their Year 12 scores and studies. The College also offers Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) alternative pathways in senior years.
